October 2009

An eventful month, I made it to London completed and become a qualified Boxercise instructor meet up with Mickey, Simon Aoife, Helen and friends which was great fun. Still waiting on my clearance to come through for civil service job in Coleraine however I am excited about the new start and of course getting paid again. Another great thing that happened this month was meeting up with Jess again, its always good to hear the ozzie accent. I miss the country and the people. I spent a wonderful year working in Australia I got a great insight into the lifestyle and the beauty there, whilst Jess was here she reminded me frequently that she lived on a beach and how miserable Irish weather really is! When hearing about her way of life in Perth it brought back many good memories of my time in Sydney. My typical day in Sydney consisted of waking up at 7am going to the beach for a walk then drive to work played football for an hour at lunch in the sun, finished work at 4:30pm trained with the soccer team or went to the Randwick boxing club I remember running on the beaches with the football team in Coogee. The sunshine and the beaches made you want to make the most of your day and it was great to hear how Jess spends her time I am very jealous. However I remind myself that the people in Derry are what keep me here, strong long lasting friendships, family and my community which is predominantly the Ring Boxing Club. In saying that I cant rule out a move to Australia again! god knows.. Safe Trip home Jess xx
