Alrite Mate, Belfast Update

Well its been 2 months since i started living in Belfast and already it feels like home thanks to good people and family who helped me imbed. Firstly the housemates, their is Billy the Pharmastist (Kilkenny man) Bryan the Engineer (Dublin) Shane and Siohban (Kerry) and myself obviously coming from the best part of Ireland....DERRY CITY :). Its great to be in amonst good folks, when moving into shared houses it can be hit or miss luckily its been a hit thus far.

Yesterday I went for my first boxing session at St Georges Boxing Club in Belfast, this was my fathers and my uncle Gustys boxing club when they young boys so I felt a connection straight away. When I walked in the door I was greeted by the club owner Jack, I told him that my father was from the Markets in Belfast and that this was his home club, he asked 'Whats your fathers name?' I replied 'Jimmy Delaney' he smiled and said 'your welcome here, your father was at school with me'. He took me over to the wall in the boxing club and showed me a picture of my father as a 12 year old boxer, this was special for me i felt proud and immediately connected to the heritage. The coaches in the gym put me through hell for the first day but i guess they want to see what I was made of. Also one coach in particular approached me and said 'are you from londonderry?' I replied 'I am from Derry' he asked the same question 8 times, he was testing me and my loyalty in a way jokingly but there is no way he would get me to say it, I said replied 'Derry and thats me going halfers with ya' (Doire, Derry, Londonderry) he laughed we had the craic throughout the session. I left the boxing club yesterday in pain and i am still in pain this morning but 'no pain no gain' I loved it.
