F1 GRAND PRIX, MELBOURNE

Click here to View All my F1 Pics

I and Frank left from Sydney to Melbourne on 12/03/2008 to watch the first Grand Prix of the year in Melbourne which was going to be something special as it has been something I always wanted to do in my life.

It was amazing we booked in the St Kilda's beach house hotel which was excellent very clean and it had its own bathroom and shower in dorms so people take notice it’s a great place if you’re coming this direction. Melbourne is a lot more laid back than Sydney, people are more friendly and approachable but the beach is man made and doesn't look as nice as the eastern suburbs beaches where I live but the City itself is the nicest I have been too, the architecture is magnificent and its just so much more organized than Sydney CBD.

The craic was great at the hostel first day we meet our German friend 'Yan' who become our F1 guru and like most Germans I meet a well organized person. For the 4 days I Frank and Yan went to the GP Circuit where we watched the F1 qualifiers, V8 super cars, Drifting, Porsche Cup and Super car racing. We meet 2 other Irish guys, Dubs to be precise :) Shea...Delaney name sake and Collie then we meet up with 2 friends that I worked with in Sydney, Dave and Ian we hit the town for the Casino and a late night to be had for almost everyone as Yan faded and Frank disappeared as usual.
